Cake flour has a very distinct flavor to it that always comes through when it s used in cakes.
I keep cake flour on hand for these types of cakes but if you don t have it on hand or don t want to run to the store there s an easy way to convert all purpose flour to cake flour. In the end all purpose flour seems to have cake flour beat as the universal flour. In a pinch you can use this cake flour substitute.
