If observed through the year the constellations shift gradually to the west.
When the sun is in libra you can t see libra. If you looked up there at different times of night covering all the hours of dark from sunset to sunrise you d. Mainly because you always do your stargazing at nearly the same time of night. There are three circumpolar constellations that are visible from most of the southern hemisphere.
Why do we see different constellations during the year. There are more constellations visible from the southern hemisphere because the south pole faces the center of the galaxy and consequently more stars. This is caused by earth s orbit around our sun. But why do we see different sets of stars that is different constellations at different times of year.
You ll see that the sun moves thru the constellations of the zodiac.
