Why Was Dan Removed From The 12 Tribes

There s a very interesting hidden message in hebrew called a remez in chapter 7 of the book of revelation but before i reveal it let s understand the context in which the list of the 12 tribes is given and why the tribe of dan is missing.
When the twelve tribes encamped they always camped three tribes to a side surrounding the levites and the temple. Levi ministered to the twelve tribes and so was treated separately. When israel grew into a nation while being in captivity or slavery in egypt they still managed to retain their identity so each of the twelve tribes would be separated when they entered into the promised land in canaan but the tribe of dan was different than the other tribes. The 144 000 consisting of 12 000 from each tribe will be witnesses during the tribulation.
The erase of dan and ephraim from the twelve tribes of israel is puzzling and it appears that there are no ground bases as to why the two tribes would be omitted. The tribe of dan as a whole was guilty of gross idolatry even to the point of stealing the idols they used to. When moses led the children of israel out of egypt about 1483 b c they were second in terms of numbers leaving egypt with 62 700 men old enough for war at least 20 years old numbers 1 39 during the second census they had lost just a few members and had 64 400 strong numbers 26 43 dan outnumbered the tribe of manasseh by almost 2. Both dan and ephraim are omitted from the list of 12 tribes in revelation 7.
Most scholars believe that dan was omitted because it was through the tribe of dan that idolatry was introduced into the land after solomon died. If we assume dan is removed due to its idolatry then manasseh is added to fill dan s place to keep the number twelve. Originally i had thought the same thing as the final sentence made in this article that if joseph and levi are to be added they needed to keep the number at twelve still thus removing dan and ephraim. It is interesting to note that the tribe of dan is also left out of the genealogies of i chronicles 1 9 although the original son of jacob is mentioned in i chronicles 2 2 this historical point of interest helps explain why the tribe of dan is not mentioned in revelation 7 4 8.
