This may be just my hair texture but do you guys have any tips on getting more curl.

My hair is natural and i don t know how to make my roots curly. Home general long hair growth curly roots stick straight ends from mid shaft all the way down. Though once i stopped brushing my hair out of the shower and just using my fingers to get it in order my roots became a tad bit more curly. My roots are curly though but about an 1inch down then at the shaft it straightens out i have dyed my hair for the past 3 years. Has your hair grown out at all.
I noticed that my hair started to straighten out about 7 months ago january. Cause if i cut my hair it will be straight because of my flat roots. I only dye it 3 times a year though i am 20 years old. By the time hair has aged enough to form the end of our hair strands they have also become more porous which is is the reason why the ends of our hair tend to have more defined curls than the rest of our mane.
Btw my routine is a normal one i use shampoo without silicones and sulfates i use conditioner and a hair mask for curls.
