Why Are The Leaves On My Money Tree Turning Yellow And Falling Off
Olivia Luz
Over time too much water can cause the roots to rot and even kill the plant.
I bought a cute little money tree i put it into a bigger pot now it is turning yellow and the leaves are falling off. Right before the leaves fall off the plant they will turn yellow. Avoid placing it next to windows and vents. This is common in older plants.
The most common factors for yellowing money tree leaves are too much sunlight wide range of temperature fluctuations throughout the day and or over watering. The exception is a bonsai sized money tree which only needs added nutrients once in the spring and once in the fall. Overwatered money trees may also wilt. Water your plant around once a week allowing the soil to dry between waterings.
Moneytree turning yellow leaves falling off. When i say the amount of water i m not necessarily referring to cups but possibly natural humidity and frequency of watering if it s getting less light it ll need less frequent watering especially as it s later in the growing season too yellow leaves usually mean too much water and if your potting soil is normal then it s mostly peat rather than fast draining grit and so is holding onto water for ages below the surface so repotting might be considered. When you water your money tree make sure you provide enough water so that liquid flows from the drainage hole at the bottom of the pot and into the saucer. Too much water can cause yellow leaves and the loss of older leaves.

If your plant is not getting enough water its leaves will start to droop so the plant can prevent excess transpiration. I recently moved to a new apartment with a lot of windows put my money tree in the south east direction as i read on the internet near the windows with a lot of sunlight. However the leaves started to turn yellow and eventually just fell off. Your money tree prefers deep but infrequent watering.
Leaves wilting and dropping from the money tree can be a sign of over fertilizing. Add an all purpose fertilizer once a month to a money tree with all over yellowed leaves. The most common cause of yellowing leaves among money trees is improper soil moisture in particular overwatering. Yellow or rust colored spots on the leaves of an otherwise healthy dracaena can be caused by a build up of soluble minerals in the soil.
