It is effective when playing a football game because it pulls the sun out of there eyes. It s a phenomenon called eye black natural skin absorbs some light but reflects the rest. Everyone knows that sunlight is attracted to black so football players and baseball players put eye paint on under there eyes to attract the sunlight away from there eyes to make it easier for players to catch either a football or baseball.
