Overuse of a muscle dehydration muscle strain or simply holding a position for a prolonged period can cause a muscle cramp.
Thigh muscle cramps tend to last the longest. In many cases however the cause isn t known. They can be caused by fatigue or overuse dehydration or a lack of electrolytes. If this happens your muscle will be painful for some time afterwards.
