That could be explanation enough to satisfy some of you but the truth runs quite a bit deeper.
Compare farts to kids we love our own but don t like other peoples. Many people love smelling and seeing their number 2 but get totally grossed out when it s somebody else. We don t know what that person has eaten or drank. Hahahaha there are some very unlovely farts like my brother could nook our island with his farts.
I couldn t find much info on the internet. Haha it s their smell it connects to them. Even he is surprised haha. Farts are no exception.
Other people s farts are like a surprise you don t want to get. Another reason your own farts don t bother you is anticipation you know it s coming so your brain can prepare itself for the smell. We wouldn t be able to take care of our own bodies if we were repulsed by. Relishing the smell of their own farts this doesn t mean just acknowledging the smell of a fart but really putting their face in the space where they just let one rip and examining the smell.

If nothing else acclimatization makes your own gas less abominable to you since you smell your own farts every single day. The most likely reason we like the smell of our farts is simply because we habituate easily. But something is kinda wrong if people don t like their own brand. When we intentionally smell our own gas it s like a confirmation of what we d expected it to smell like.
So we automatically assume that it s gonna be alot worse than our own. The same could be said when someone is taking a number 2 in the bathroom. It s what they re used to. I was trying to find out why people enjoy smelling their own farts but are disgusted at the same smell of others when they fart.
We ve adapted to like our own odors to help us maintain proper hygiene.
