Why Don T Aquariums Have Great White Sharks

Great whites have a very sharp sensory perception which allows them to detect very subtle changes in their environment. Sensory fog is another problem that could affect great white sharks. And most importantly the sharks die quickly outside of the oceans no matter what zookeepers do. But not one has a great white shark on display.
Aquariums have made dozens of attempts since the 1970s to display a captive great white shark. Great whites only eat scraps when they are desperate and their depressed state in. Institutions all over the world have repeatedly tried to stick great white sharks into captivity. Sharks in aquariums have been recorded as refusing to eat.
Then we have the case of the shark in japan in 2016 which died after 3 days. But unfortunately the sharks did not survive. By the 2000s the only group still trying was the monterey bay aquarium which spent a decade planning its white shark program. But unfortunately the sharks did not survive. The aquarium tried again in 2011 the shark was released after two months in captivity and died just minutes later. And while many people assume this always fails because great white sharks are simply too dangerous that is not the case.

In an aquarium these capacities are unfortunately confused by the environment itself for example the glass walls noisy public electronic devices etc. Basically there are two main reasons great whites aren t kept in captivity.
