Passion city church and the passion conference movement led by louie and shelley giglio chris tomlin and others is a full fledged contagious epidemic amongst christian students.
The passion conference was founded by louie giglio and jeff lewis in 1997 and is known for their annual gatherings of college students and young adults. For instance chris tomlin who also leads worship along with kristian stanfill and christy nockels was a big draw for me. Singer songwriter chris tomlin has signed a new record deal with capitol christian music group ccmg. The first passion conference had about 2000 attendees and the growth has been dramatic as passion 2013 had over 60 000 in attendance.
Born out of the passion movement a decades old movement among the collegiate generation they sought to plant a local community of faith impacted and informed by the dna of passion. Since its inception about 48 events in sixteen countries have taken place. Passion city church began with a stirring in the hearts of louie and shelley giglio for the local church. On good friday april 6th i was privileged to be part of the sold out weeks in advance crowd of 12 500 for a night of worship.
I had also heard of pcc due to the passion conferences giglio holds each year. I first heard of the passion conference founded by louie giglio after finishing college but was familiar with and listened to the music of artists associated with passion such as chris tomlin and the david crowder band. The allure of pcc was its size and all the famous names associated with it. Passion city church held its first service on february 15 2009 in atlanta at the tabernacle.

And the contagion is infecting older adults as well. This was between 2006 and 2011 before i began to regularly listen to louie via the passion city church podcast.
