Stress caused by the reason making you cry triggers tension headaches. Crying for a more extended period also produces lactic acid as your facial muscles even move during crying. Some people are very sensitive to things like this and the result is a headache. Finally the sinuses become swollen with excess drainage from the lacrimal glands and salivary glands which secrete tears and saliva while crying.
So all of that congestion built up in the body can put pressure on your forehead and cause a headache. These facial nerves are often associated with migraine and other serious headaches. Crying causes water loss in the body and a painful headache is an indication of dehydration. Due to this you can get a headache.
Sometimes the emotions you feel when you cry can be so intense that. Why do i always get headache after crying.
