Why Is My Baby So Squirmy While Nursing

Arching after a feeding.
It might surprise you to hear that this sort of fussy behaviour at the breast is not uncommon. Some squirming is normal but if your baby is especially thrashy she could be frustrated. Say something like i can t nurse you when you re squirmy. When my 3 month old gets squirmy i stand up and walk around the house while nursing or rock her.
A fast flow of milk can exacerbate this. I watch mums trying to feed their baby and they are doing everything right. As for the teeth babies don t use their teeth to nurse. Most mothers surf social media while nursing or during a free moment.
I hear them say that my baby doesn t like my milk or my breasts or breastfeeding. Babies will often fuss cry or pull away from the breast when they need to burp. They can also swallow more air when they re fussy or gulp down milk faster than normal if they re over hungry. It can be very stressful if your baby does these sorts of things though.

Baby fussy after breastfeeding. One possibility is that your milk is coming out like gangbusters making it hard for her to keep up. If your baby is fussy after breastfeeding your baby might have acid reflux or silent reflux. When your baby fusses at the breast some mums immediately blame themselves or think they are doing something wrong.
If the fussy behavior is mainly in the mornings it might be due to a faster than usual let down if baby has just had a longer sleep period and mom s breasts are fuller than usual. It s easy to become overwhelmed when you see other parents posting their victories. Or perhaps your baby squirms when breastfeeding or just keeps pulling away while breastfeeding. Acid reflux gerd while spitting up is very common in babies if your baby is spitting up often and the amount is excessive your child might be dealing with acid reflux.
You might get bit on occasion it does happen so i hear we have no teeth yet. Stop breastfeeding if your child continues and explain in a few simple words why you stopped nursing.
